Congratulations to Ann Gleeson, winner of Golfer of the Year 2016. It is hard to believe that Ann only started playing golf in 2014. She has progressed since then to be a talented golfer under the watchful eye of her sister Hilary O’Dwyer. This year Ann won the Presidents Prize to the Ladies and The Little Solace cup which gave her valuable points towards Golfer of the Year. Ann has always been a very supportive member of the club since joining and was one of the Ladies who took part in Strictly Come Dancing which raised much needed funds for Charleville Golf Club. David O’Sullivan presented the trophy, in memory of his mother, to Ann at the prizegiving in the clubhouse on Sunday 23rd October. Well done to Joan Dore who came a close second in this competition .
