Last weekend the ladies of Charleville Golf Club were busy playing in three different competitions:

MINOR CUP: The Minor Cup team ( handicap 23-28 ) were playing against Doneraile on Saturday. Representing Charleville were Geraldine Dollery, Margaret Cashman, Helen Cronin, Hilary O’Dwyer and Kathleen Hayes. Hard luck to the ladies who all played so well in both Charleville Golf Club and Doneraile Golf Club. The managers of the team, Margaret Laffan and Joan Dore thanked both the players and caddies.

CHALLENGE CUP: Team managers of the Challenge Cup team( handicap 29-36 ) Aine McMahon and Catherine McCarthy divided up to play in Templemore and Charleville . Playing in Templemore were Mary Donegan , Catherine McCarthy and Careen Horwood while Mary Buicke and Ann Gleeson played in Charleville. Unfortunately Templemore proved to be the stronger team on the day but well done to all the players and thanks to all the caddies who supported them .

INTERMEDIATE CUP: Congratulations to the Intermediate Cup team ( handicap 16-22 ) who had a 3-2 victory over Mitchelstown at the weekend. Team managers Marie Browne and Marie Walsh were delighted with the players who played in both Charleville and Mitchelstown.  Playing in Charleville were Margaret Deady, Joan Dore and Carol Merrick while Margaret Laffan and Alice South played in Mitchelstown. The team managers thanked the players and caddies and now the team are looking forward to playing either Slievenamon or Doneraile in the next round .
