Joan Dore’s Lady Captains prize was held on Saturday 7th July. Over sixty ladies played in the competition including visitors and beginners. This was a fantastic turnout for our hard working and very popular Lady Captain. The weather was sunny and hot on the day, the course was in great condition and we were treated to a refreshing fruit salad after the 9th hole.
The Ladies met in the clubhouse at 7pm for a beautiful meal provided by Catriona and her staff at Nora Mays. The restaurant was very tastefully decorated in the Limerick colours and Brid Clarson provided the beautiful flower arrangements.
Joan addressed the Ladies and thanked everybody who had made her day so memorable. She had a special mention for Vice Captain Mary Howard and the Ladies committee for their constant support throughout the year. She thanked her family and friends who had travelled to share in her special day.
All attention then turned to the prize giving. Joan’s prize was a beautiful necklace and bracelet. Congratulations to Ann Gleeson, a popular winner with a great score of 66. Ann told Joan she was delighted to win the Lady Captains prize . She thanked her playing partners and especially her sister Hilary who introduced her to the game of golf and has been a constant support to her.
The Ladies all had a very enjoyable days golf and a great evening. We wish Joan the best of luck for the remainder of her year.
