Covid 19 and Golf Club Update Thursday 21st May 2020

Dear member,

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you, the members, for your
exemplary conduct on returning to golf and adherence to the rules and
protocols in place because of Covid 19.

We are attaching our original information report to remind you of the rules
& protocols and request that you continue to observe them until new
guidelines are issued after phase 1. These should be applied in addition to
Public health advice and measures currently in place.

Great news, Golf is one of the first sports to reopen following closure due to the coronavirus 19.
With that comes a responsibility on all of us,there are a number of protocols and rules we have
to follow.In line with HSE and GUI guidelines the following will take effect in Charleville Golf
Club to enable golf to resume on Monday 18th May 2020:

-Members with colds or any symptoms of covid 19 stay away from the golf course/clubhouse

–Physical distancing rules are to be observed by all members at all times in the car
park,clubhouse & on the course (easy measure – 2 mid irons length between players = 6ft +)

-Play is restricted to MEMBERS ONLY, 2020 membership stickers must be displayed on golf
bags.

– Fully paid/financial arrangement members only- players with no subscription paid thus far must
pay a minimum of E250 and finalise their arrangement before being allowed to play)

-CASUAL GOLF ONLY

-Timesheet will open on Thursday 14th MAY @ 10.30am FOR ONLINE BOOKING. Telephone
bookings on Thursday from 11am to 12noon & on Friday from 10am to 11am Tel: 06381257 ext 2.

-Timeslots are restricted to 14 minute intervals, up to 3 golfers may play per start time.

-Cut off time for booking will be 5pm on the day previous to playing day.

-You can only turn up to play if you have a booking – there will be no exception to this.

-Your contact details must be provided before you play

-Juniors are allowed to play only if they are accompanied by an adult.

-Practice facilities will be CLOSED (putting, chipping greens/driving range etc.).

-Volunteer starters will be on hand each day to ensure adherence to rules/protocols.(any
members wishing to volunteer for a few hour slots i.e. 8 to 12, 12 to 4 or 4 to 7, please give your
name to Mark or any committee member)

Due to the limited tee times now available ( four 3balls per hour approx) we would request
retired members to consider avoiding bookings after 4.30pm and at weekends to enable the
working members opportunities to play.

We expect all our members to act responsibly, obey the law and follow the rules as outlined and
some other general protocols referred to here :

-Wash your hands and golf equipment before you leave home

-Travel to the golf course on your own or with members of your own household only.

-Park your car in such a way as to facilitate physical distancing.

-Observe physical distancing at all times (car park, pro shop, course etc.).

-Change your shoes in the car park (locker rooms not to be used).
-Do not enter the teeing area until all members of the group ahead have played and exited the
teeing ground.

-Golf buggies must only be used by one person.

-Do not exchange or share equipment, food or drink with other players.

-Do not pick up another player’s equipment or golf ball.

-Do not touch the flag or flagstick, putt with the flagstick in & remove your own ball from the
hole.

-Do not use rakes, on-course water fountains,ball cleaners etc..

-Use the hand sanitisers provided. Preferably bring your own sanitiser and use regularly.

A full list of protocols and rules as issued by the GUI will be available for view at the clubhouse.

We look forward to welcoming our members back to play and hope you will all keep safe &
enjoy the healthy activity of golf. We expect there may be HSE inspection & Garda observance
so, for the benefit of all, please ensure you apply the highest standards in all your actions in and
around the club.
